The Fun in the Classroom system has been absolutely perfect for our Year 4 band. Such care has been taken to ensure that the music is comfortable for each instrument and I love the way that the music does not rush pupils to learn new notes, but reinforces the same pitches over several pieces, allowing pupils to reinforce their learning. My pupils have made excellent progress this year which is most certainly down to the quality of the writing, the pacing of the pieces and structure of the band books.

The children have loved the pieces which are both accessible and varied. We enjoyed the use of lyrics which helped with learning the rhythms of the pieces and appreciated the clear fingerings/ valve/ slide positions on the initial pieces which have helped support our young players in their journey to become independent musicians.

Fun in the classroom offers a cohesive band method and we have been delighted with the quality of the music which has made teaching our beginner band a pleasure this year! I highly recommend the Fun in the classroom series to teachers running beginner ensembles. It is what you have been looking for - and more!

Fun In The Classroom comprises a selection of favourite pieces from Fun In The First Register that have been arranged especially for class music-making, together with some great new pieces written for the concert platform. It is divided into three sections: Route A, Route B, and Pick 'n' Mix. Routes A + B are similar, but are in different keys to make the pieces accessible by different instrumental combinations. As we all know, some keys work best for brass, whilst other work best for wind; this way you have a choice of keys to suit your line-up!

The scheme is designed to work for just wind, just brass, or wind and brass combined. If, however, you are blessed with a particularly unusual combination of instruments and abilities, then please do get in touch and we’ll do our best to come up with something to suit your set up.

All pieces have backing tracks and easy to play piano accompaniments. Though the system is aimed at the beginner, a number of more advanced instrumental parts are also included. String parts are also available for a selection of the pieces - please contact us with your individual requirements.
